Police scour landfill for body of toddler allegedly left in garbage

The authorities in Savannah, Georgia, believe that the body of missing youngster Quinton Simon was dumped in a trash, and they have commenced their search of the nearby landfill in an effort to locate his remains. The police stated their belief that 20-month-old Quinton is no longer alive last week, and they listed his mother, Leilani Simon, as the prime suspect in the investigation. Since October 5th, the young kid has not been seen or heard from.

Jeff Hadley, the chief of police for Chatham County, stated at a press conference on Tuesday that no charges have been filed, and that Leilani Simon continues to be the only suspect.

"We are not yet prepared to charge anyone for our services. There is more work that needs to be done, "he stated.

Hadley reported on Tuesday that police in Chatham County have begun a "extensive examination of the waste management dump." According to him, the authorities have the theory that Quinton "was thrown in a certain dumpster," which was afterwards transported to the garbage dump.

Will Clarke, of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, stated that "We are not just arbitrarily exploring this landfill," putting emphasis on the fact that evidence led police to the expansive property.
